Post-ACP Options: How to Maintain Affordable Phone Service in 2025
ACP Program Status Update
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) officially concluded on May 31, 2024. Following the FCC’s notification, ACP enrollments were frozen on February 8, 2024, and the program provided full benefits until April 30, 2024, with partial benefits in May 2024.
Current Status: ACP benefits are no longer available as of June 1, 2024.

Lifeline Program Continues
The good news is that the Lifeline Program remains active. If you qualified for ACP benefits, you likely qualify for the Lifeline program as well. The Lifeline program continues to provide:
- $0/month basic phone service with unlimited talk and text
- Up to 4GB of data for qualified customers
- Available in all 50 states where AirTalk Wireless operates
How to Verify Lifeline Eligibility:
- Visit National Verifier
- Provide proof of participation in qualifying assistance programs (SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, Federal Housing Assistance, etc.)
- Or demonstrate income at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines

Why did the ACP program end?
The ACP ended because the $14.2 billion in funding allocated by Congress was depleted. Despite advocacy efforts, additional funding was not approved.
I was on an ACP plan, what happens now?
Former ACP customers were automatically transitioned to either a Lifeline-only plan (if eligible) or offered special transition plans through AirVoice Wireless.
Can I still get a free or discounted phone?
Yes! Qualified Lifeline customers can still receive free or heavily discounted phones. Additionally, we offer affordable device options with flexible payment plans for all customers.
How can I prevent unauthorized transfers?
