Post-ACP Transition Guide: Keeping Your Combo Plan in 2025

Understanding the ACP Conclusion

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) officially concluded on May 31, 2024, following the FCC’s announcement and the exhaustion of federal funding. As anticipated, the program provided full benefits until April 30, 2024, with partial benefits in May 2024.

Current Status: ACP benefits are no longer available nationwide as of June 1, 2024.

Important Update: While the ACP has concluded, AirTalk Wireless has implemented several options to ensure you maintain affordable wireless service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did the ACP program end?

The ACP ended due to the exhaustion of the $14.2 billion in funding allocated by Congress. Despite advocacy efforts, additional funding was not approved, leading to the program’s conclusion.

Will I lose my phone number?

No! If you maintain your service with AirTalk Wireless, your phone number remains unchanged. This is one of the key benefits of staying with us during this transition.

What causes service transfers?

Remember that Lifeline benefits are limited to one per household. Registering with multiple providers simultaneously may result in your benefits being transferred. Always register with one provider at a time.

What are the risks of transferring to another provider?

If you transfer to another provider, you risk:

  • Losing your accumulated loyalty benefits
  • Potentially losing your current phone number
  • Experiencing service interruptions
  • Dealing with new activation requirements
