Post-ACP Transition Guide: Keeping Your Combo Plan in 2025

ACP Program Status

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) officially ended on May 31, 2024, following the FCC’s announcement. New ACP enrollments were frozen on February 8, 2024, and the program provided full benefits until April 30, 2024, with partial benefits in May 2024.

AirTalk Wireless provided customers with full-service plans during the transition period to ensure uninterrupted service. If you previously had an ACP/Lifeline Combo Plan, this guide will explain your current options.

Your Lifeline Benefits Continue

Good news! Lifeline benefits are still available, and you can continue enjoying these services without interruption:

  • $0/month basic service with unlimited talk and text
  • 4GB monthly data (adjusted from previous 15GB under the combo plan)
  • No action required - your transition was handled automatically

AirTalk Wireless is authorized to provide Lifeline services in over 50 states, so your connection continues seamlessly without additional steps. This is a key advantage that sets us apart from competitors.

Important: Transferring to another provider could result in losing your loyalty benefits, accumulated rewards, and possibly your current phone number.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happened to the ACP program?

The ACP program ended due to the exhaustion of the $14.2 billion in funding allocated by Congress. Despite advocacy efforts, additional funding was not approved, leading to the program’s conclusion on May 31, 2024.

Will I lose my phone number?

No. As long as you maintain your service with AirTalk Wireless, your phone number remains unchanged.

What causes service transfers?

Lifeline benefits are limited to one per household. Registering with multiple providers simultaneously may result in your benefits being transferred. Always register with one provider at a time and wait for confirmation before applying elsewhere.

How can I prevent unauthorized transfers?

AirTalk Wireless does not employ field agents outside our store locations. If someone offers you a free phone/service:

  • Verify who you’re signing up with
  • Check if it might affect your existing AirTalk service
  • Contact our customer service if uncertain

What are the risks of transferring out?

If you transfer to another provider, you risk:

  • Potentially losing your Lifeline benefits
  • Difficulty transferring back to AirTalk Wireless
  • Loss of service benefits (unlimited talk, reduced data allowance)
  • Loss of your mobile phone number
