Marc G. Serré MP, born on January 28, 1967, is a Canadian Liberal politician with a rich family history in politics. He currently represents the Nickel Belt riding in the House of Commons of Canada, a position he was elected to in the 2015 federal election.

Serré’s political lineage runs deep. His father, Gaetan Serré, previously held the Nickel Belt seat from 1968 to 1972 during the tenure of Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Additionally, he is the nephew of Benoît Serré, another former Liberal Member of Parliament.

Before embarking on his political career, Serré served as the manager of business services for EastLink’s operations in Ontario. In 2010, he even sought the mayoral position in Greater Sudbury during the municipal election. However, he withdrew his candidacy before election day.

Furthermore, Serré served as the co-chair of the Indigenous Caucus alongside MP Robert-Falcon Ouellette, a historic caucus formed in 2015, representing the interests and concerns of Indigenous communities across Canada.

Marc G. Serré MP has dedicated himself to public service and has played an active role in advancing important issues within the Canadian political landscape. Through his positions in Parliament, he has worked to promote linguistic rights, foster responsible resource management, and advocate for the rights and well-being of Indigenous communities.
