Steil is a problem solver and tireless advocate for Southeast Wisconsin
Congressman Bryan Steil proudly serves the people of Southeast Wisconsin in Congress. Throughout Steil’s service in office, he has been available and accessible to Southeast Wisconsin and is fighting for families and workers.
He has a history of private sector experience, public service, and community involvement. First elected to Congress in 2018, Steil has been a steadfast advocate for Wisconsin values.
In Congress, Steil is focused on bringing down costs for Wisconsin workers and families, securing the border to stop the human trafficking crisis and deadly flow of fentanyl, and protecting Social Security and Medicare.
Steil serves as Chairman of the Committee on House Administration, where he is fighting to strengthen election integrity and make the House of Representatives more accessible, accountable, and transparent.
Steil also sits on the House Financial Services Committee, currently as Chairman of the Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Artificial Intelligence Subcommittee. He also served on the Subcommittee on Capital Markets, where he advocates for pro-growth policies to ensure all families can feel financially secure.
Throughout his time in office, Steil has held numerous in-person town halls each year, including telephone town halls, reaching thousands of constituents, to keep the community informed and to listen to the thoughts of those here in Wisconsin.
Steil has fought for Wisconsin farmers and agriculture to help keep Wisconsin a leader in the agriculture industry. He strongly supports our active military and veterans, and works to ensure they receive healthcare and other benefits they have earned, while improving access to mental health resources.
Steil has been a steadfast supporter of our men and women in law enforcement. He has strongly opposed efforts to defund the police. He believes that our communities in Southeast Wisconsin should be a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.
Steil worked with law enforcement in Southeast Wisconsin and is leading an effort in Congress to expose the financing of human trafficking. He also championed legislation to protect Wisconsinites, especially our seniors, from criminal robocalls and scams.
Prior to his 2018 election, Steil worked in the manufacturing sector for over a decade in Southeast Wisconsin where he saw firsthand how burdensome Washington regulations can stifle economic growth and hinder job creation. He was appointed by Gov. Walker to serve on the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents in 2016, where he oversaw 26 UW campuses and a $6 billion budget. Steil voted to freeze tuition to ensure that students had access to high quality, affordable education.
Steil is a Janesville native, Craig High School, Georgetown University and University of Wisconsin graduate. He is a member of St. John Vianney Parish in Janesville.

Protecting Our Seniors
Steil has always worked to protect our seniors and the programs they rely on. Steil is committed to protecting Social Security and Medicare. He supports policies to ensure these programs are solvent for generations to come. He’s also working to lower prescription drug prices which have become unaffordable for many seniors.
In addition to lowering costs, securing the border, and protecting our seniors, Steil is committed to supporting our veterans, workers, and families.
Our veterans have put everything on the line in service to our country. In Congress, Steil is working to ensure every active duty service member, their families, and our veterans are being supported. Whether it’s access to mental health services or the veterans benefits so many have earned, Steil is committed to supporting our military and their families. Steil proudly supports the Second Amendment.
Southeast Wisconsin is home to one of the best workforces. Steil is working to ensure our community has access to high quality education and schools focused on preparing workers for the jobs of the future.
Steil supports families by working for policies to lower costs and help families afford the things that they need. He supports access to IVF and is a strong supporter of life.
