Meet Brian
Hi! My name is Brian Del Vecchio and I am running to represent Arizona’s First District in Congress. I am a husband, father, public servant, and little league coach who is fed up with the choices that this country has given its citizens: status quo or chaos. I believe that we can fight for a future that is better and more prosperous than what we have now without selling our values to the highest bidder.
I became a judge to fight for families like mine growing up; families whose lives can be uprooted by a single misfortune, sent reeling into foreclosure and bankruptcy. I found as a judge that I was restrained by those same bureaucracies that sent so many families down paths not unlike my own. I believe in hard work and am unafraid of big ideas. I’ve seen how the government works, I’ve seen its outcomes and its failures, I refuse to stand by and not fight for a better future for my children and my community. I believe in an America that does big things, that builds wonders, that does not pick favorites amongst its citizens – that is the America I am fighting for.
Brian Del Vecchio is a devoted husband, father, and public servant running to represent Arizona’s 1st Congressional District. He’s not a career politician—he’s a community-rooted leader who has spent his life fighting for fairness, justice, and opportunity. As a former Deputy Director of Voter Protection, Administrative Law Judge, law professor, and attorney, Brian brings both the legal acumen and real-world experience needed to deliver meaningful results for working families in Arizona.
Brian is also a Little League baseball coach in Scottsdale, where he has spent years mentoring and shaping young athletes, including his own children—Madi and Alex. His campaign is grounded in the belief that government, when functioning with integrity and purpose, is a force for good in people’s lives. This campaign is about restoring faith in government’s ability to serve people—not corporations, not special interests, but hardworking families. Brian is running because he believes we can and must make government work for the everyday Arizonan. Brian’s firsthand experience as an Administrative Law Judge revealed how inefficiency and bureaucracy crush opportunity. He’ll take a scalpel to unnecessary red tape—not to gut government, but to make it work smarter and faster for the people it’s meant to serve.
He’s fought in the courtroom, in the classroom, and on the baseball field. He’ll fight in Congress to defend democracy, restore decency, and deliver for the families of Arizona.
Brian on the Issues
Healthcare
“I, like most Arizonans, believe that quality healthcare should be accessible without causing financial hardship. By aligning public and private sector interests, we can drive down costs while ensuring high-quality care is available to all Arizonans." Brian
Every child. Every checkup. Every time.
Too many families in Arizona delay care or go into debt trying to keep their children healthy. That stops now.
I will introduce the CHRIST Act (Children’s Health Reinvestment in Service and Treatment) to guarantee every child in America access to comprehensive care—without financial barriers.
The CHRIST Act expands the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to cover every child under 18 with zero out-of-pocket costs and no income cap. This means no more copays, deductibles, or bureaucratic barriers for families—just guaranteed coverage when your child needs it most.
What Will I Do in Congress:
- Pass the CHRIST Act: Guarantee universal, publicly funded healthcare for every American child
- Fully cover services: Including doctor visits, prescriptions, dental, vision, mental health, and urgent care
- Raise pediatrician pay: Increase reimbursement to $250/visit (same rate as private insurance) to strengthen access in underserved areas
- Support rural Arizona: Incentivize providers to open or return to rural clinics
- Reinvest in families, not red tape: Cut out bureaucracy, streamline care, and reduce ER dependency
“How you gonna pay for that?!?!”:
- Redirect less than 3% of the Pentagon’s budget, reductions could be absorbed through contract renegotiations or attrition, not pay cuts. O&M impact could be handled by consolidating maintenance contracts or trimming administrative overhead—not readiness
- Close corporate loopholes and implement a modest tax on the largest companies
- Deliver this program with existing CHIP infrastructure—no need to reinvent the wheel
Join the Movement
Arizona families deserve better. Help Brian deliver a future where no child is uninsured and no parent has to choose between groceries and medicine.
Lowering prescription drug costs
I am committed to advancing legislation that empowers the government to negotiate directly with pharmaceutical companies, ensuring that we can lower prescription drug prices and make healthcare more affordable for all.
I will work towards expanding provisions, like the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA,) that allowed for Government to negotiate directly with Pharmaceutical companies, successfully resulting in a cap on insulin prices [at $35 dollars] and placing a limit on out-of-pocket prescription drug prices for Medicare recipients (to take effect in 2026).
Securing Medicare and Medicaid
Critical programs like Medicare and Medicaid must remain strong and reliable. I will prioritize protecting access to healthcare for our seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income families. No one should have to worry about their healthcare coverage, especially when they need it most.
Cost-of-Living
“I believe full-time working Arizonans should be able to make ends meet and that daily necessities like affording groceries or a full tank of gas should be attainable to hard working Arizonans. Congress must act to tackle the affordability crisis, beginning with prioritizing the needs of people over corporate interests." Brian
Incentives for Local Businesses
Local businesses are the backbone of our economy, and I’ll push for tax incentives that help small, locally owned businesses grow and succeed. When we invest in our local entrepreneurs, we’re helping our entire community thrive and stay strong.
Policies that encourage business competition to keep prices fair As your representative, I will fight for tougher federal laws to combat corporate price manipulation. In this state and in our community, far too many families are still feeling the squeeze from price gouging. It’s time for change – we need laws that protect our communities and ensure fair prices for everyone.
Housing availability & affordability
“I am dedicated to expanding affordable housing options for everyone. As a judge, I have seen the direct impact that inadequate housing has on families, and the frustrating delays caused by inefficiencies in our system. I’ve witnessed how red tape and bureaucratic hurdles slow down progress. I am committed to cutting through these barriers, reducing costs, and pushing for streamlined processes that ensure affordable housing is built quickly and efficiently" Brian
Streamline zoning and permitting processes to facilitate local development
I will push for federal programs or tax incentives that encourage state and local governments to adopt simpler and more efficient zoning processes to pave the way for progress.
I will work towards advancing policies and provisions like the Neighborhood Homes Investment Act to build or rehabilitate housing options for our communities and families that are affordable.
National Free School Breakfast and Lunch
Poverty is not a moral failing — especially not for children.
I know that firsthand. From the end of my freshman year through my junior year of high school, my family and I were homeless. I still remember what it felt like to sit in class after lunch with an empty stomach, trying to hide the sound of it growling — and trying even harder to focus on what the teacher was saying.
That kind of shame, fear, and distraction has no place in our schools. And no child in America should have to experience it.
That’s why I’m fighting for universal free school breakfast and lunch — for every student, in every public school, regardless of income.
This is about more than food. It’s about dignity. It’s about recognizing that children cannot learn if their basic needs aren’t met. It’s about creating a public education system that uplifts all students, not just those who can afford it.
We’ve seen the success of programs like the Community Eligibility Provision. Now it’s time to make that promise national and permanent.
As your representative, I will work to:
Make universal free school meals a federally guaranteed right
Eliminate lunch debt and end the practice of lunch shaming
Fully fund school meal programs so they can provide healthy, high-quality food
Reframe school meals as essential educational infrastructure, not a handout
Because every child deserves to eat. Every child deserves to learn. And no family should have to choose between pride and their kid’s next meal.
