Conservative Republican for U.S. Senate Rooted in Wyoming. Powered by Us. Zero Experience. I’ve pledged to do three things in Washington: Sponsor and fight for term limits for the House and Senate 👉 View my signed Term Limits Pledge Bring Wyoming’s voice — your voice — to Congress using secure, modern tech

  • Represent you

Let’s face it — Washington has stopped listening. I feel it too. You’re not alone. You’re not wrong. I’m Jimmy Skovgard, born and raised here. Great-grandfather Simon homesteaded near Basin in 1909. Greybull grade school → Basin High School → University of Wyoming. Twelve years of service in the Wyoming Army National Guard, honorably discharged as a captain. Zero political connections. Zero experience. Just a clean slate. My only agenda your voice.

I’m running because Wyoming deserves:

  • Your voice
  • Accountability over showmanship.
  • Limited government over endless growth.
  • Service over self-promotion.
  • I’m not here to play a part. I’m here to do the job — listen, represent, restore trust. This is your seat. This is your future.
  • Let’s reclaim it together. In Wyoming, if we need something, we build it.

About Jimmy Skovgard

Candidate for U.S. Senate, Wyoming Values, Local Spirit, and a Voice for Us.

For Wyoming. For Us. I am Jimmy Skovgard, a fifth generation Wyomingite, husband, father, veteran, and now a candidate for the U.S. Senate. I grew up in the Big Horn Basin, grade school in Greybull, high school in Basin, and college at the University of Wyoming. My great grandfather, Simon Skovgard, homesteaded near Basin in 1909. Like many of us, I was raised to work hard, speak the truth, and take responsibility for my actions. I served 12 years in the Wyoming Army National Guard and was honorably discharged as a captain. I have worked in the private sector, run my own business, and spent my life grounded in Wyoming values. But I never planned to run for office. I got off the couch in 2024 because I felt the direction of division, distraction, and fear mongering is wrong. I acknowledge fear is a powerful psychological motivator, yet in this case it is being used to perpetuate harm. Nothing is being built. I have seen it in my own family. My brother sends me link after link filled with half truths. My sister has become fixated on the fear of “illegals” entering her home in the Big Horn Basin. I have seen how an immigrant receiving health care can spark outrage, as if the system helping one person must mean we blame a whole class of people for our problems. These are not natural divisions. They are the result of manipulation for control, and they cut deep.

Why I Am Running If manipulation can divide a family, it can divide a nation. That is why I am running. This is not about party politics or career ambition. It is about principle. It is about us, the people of Wyoming, being seen, heard, and respected again. We don’t need a rubber stamp in Congress. We don’t need a career politician afraid of retribution. We need service. We need accountability. We need tools that bring our voices to the table, not more backroom deals. That is why I have pledged to: Sponsor term limits for the House and Senate Use modern, secure technology to give Wyomingites a direct voice in Washington

Listen first. Represent always.

Health Care Rights

On questions of life, family, and medical care, we start with Wyoming’s Constitution. Government must not force personal medical decisions on families. Our campaign stands with and for Every Wyomingite: “Every competent adult has the right to make personal health care decisions for themselves and their dependents, and the State of Wyoming must protect those rights from undue governmental infringement.”

(Wyoming Constitution, Article 1, Section 38) It is our job to help Wyoming protect that freedom from government overreach. No Political Experience, and That Is the Point I bring no strings, no debts, and no ties to the political machine. I am running with a clean slate, and a full heart, because I believe we can do better. In Wyoming, when something is broken, we do not wait around.

  • We fix it.
  • We build it.
  • We stand up and lead.
  • This seat belongs to the people. It is time to bring it home.

My Writings and Podcast Alongside this campaign, I have written hundreds of essays outlining my journey and my thoughts as I pursue one goal: to help restore trust in each other. We are all Americans, and every day we face the same choice: to build or to destroy. The choice is ours.
