Meet Mark Robert Gordon
Mark Robert Gordon is a longtime voting and civil rights advocate, Democratic leader, and union activist. Mark grew up in North Central Phoenix, the son of a disabled WWII veteran and a public school teacher. He attended Phoenix public schools and put himself through Princeton, Columbia Law, and Harvard by working part-time jobs and earning scholarships. For more than 30 years, Mark has worked as a voting rights attorney and advocate, leading voter protection efforts across the country and founding a voting rights organization dedicated to electing pro-democracy leaders. He’s even taken that commitment to protecting democracy abroad, delivering humanitarian aid to war-torn Ukraine on three missions. A small business owner and proud union member for over 30 years, Mark serves on the DNC’s Small Business Council, where he brings real-world experience to advocate for policies that support workers and small businesses. He’s running for Congress to bring honest, experienced leadership to Arizona’s First Congressional District.
For more than 30 years, Mark has put those values into action, fighting to protect voting rights, defend democracy, and stand up for everyday Americans. As a voting and civil rights advocate and attorney, he has led voter protection efforts across the country, served as Election Protection Director for the Maricopa County Democratic Party, and founded Voting Rights Fund to help elect leaders with a proven record of defending democracy. Mark has even taken that fight beyond our borders, traveling on three missions to deliver aid, ambulances, and medical equipment to Ukraine, the frontlines of the fight for freedom and democratic values.
Mark’s deep commitment to Democratic values has made him a trusted and experienced leader in the community. As a small business owner, nonprofit leader, and one of Arizona’s elected members of the Democratic National Committee, Mark brings real-world experience to the DNC’s Small Business Council, where he advocates for policies that support both small businesses and the workers who power them. A proud union member for over 30 years, Mark has always stood with workers, fighting for fair wages and strong benefits.
Now, Mark is stepping up to take on another fight. While Donald Trump and David Schweikert work to tear down our democracy, attack Social Security and Medicare, and hand out tax breaks to the wealthiest in this country, Arizona families are being left behind. Mark has the experience to lead, record to prove it, and trust of the community he’s served. He’s running for Congress to fight for Arizonans and to deliver the honest leadership this district deserves.
