Making West Virginia Stronger

Tom Willis is a Christian, husband, father of four, West Virginia State Senator, small business owner, and U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret. He holds a 100% pro-life, pro-gun, and pro-West Virginia family values voting record. Like many West Virginians, Tom has faced deep personal hardship. His first wife, Michelle, passed away from cancer, leaving him a single father of two young children. Years later, his son Hunter also lost his battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord. Tom believes that through these painful trials, God has refined his character and given him a deeper calling to serve others. An Eagle Scout and Lieutenant Colonel, Tom joined the West Virginia National Guard in 2000. As a Green Beret, he has deployed across the globe, including missions to dismantle communist insurgencies in South America and combat terrorism in the Middle East. He speaks in English, French, Spanish, and Russian. Tom is also a published author and has appeared as a guest on FOX Business®, CNN®, and i24 News®. Tom helped found the Rick Herrema Foundation, a nonprofit supporting military families coping with the unique stresses of military life. He also serves on the Board of Advisors for the Hunter Carlos Willis Aviation Program at Shepherd University. Since 2015, Tom and his wife Sara have raised their three surviving children in Hedgesville, West Virginia. He enjoys outdoor recreation, firearms, talking with people, reading history, and singing. His service in the State Senate, military leadership, business experience, time living abroad, and personal losses have given him the perspective and resilience to represent West Virginia with honor in the U.S. Senate.

True Christian Conservative

I consider myself a “Christian Constitutional Conservative. What this means is that I advocate for limited government involvement in the economy. The government should not be in the business of picking winners and losers. I will provide a strong voice for Free Markets, Lower Taxes, and Strict Interpretation of the U.S. Constitution. I believe in Jesus Christ to be the Son of God as my personal savior, and the teachings of the Bible. Following these teachings provides the moral character and values to serve my fellow citizens while upholding the principles of honest governing to benefit all of society. I have taken the oath to protect the Constitution of the United States of America from all enemies foreign and domestic. This means protecting the principles and rights that it enshrines through strict interpretation in line with the original intent of the framers.

As a Christian Constitutional Conservative, I support the 2nd Amendment, Life beginning at Conception, and a Free Market Economy. As a Green Beret Officer, I took an oath to the Support and Defend the Constitution. That oath has no expiration date. The Founding Fathers created this great experiment in Liberty that we are all duty bound to protect. As a Christian, I will not sit by, like my opponent has, and allow minors to be injected with the same chemical castration drugs that have been used to sterilize rapists. Further, I will not allow Drag Queen ‘Story Hour’ to happen in public places, nor use your tax dollars to fund Left-Wing Radicals, such as Bill Gates, to bring their Anti-Gun, Anti-America, and Anti-West Virginia agenda to our State. I will always Put West Virginia and West Virginians First! Child protection laws are another important issue that must be addressed. Legislators must help parents fight back and pass legislation that cleans up our public schools, protects our children, and restores parental rights. This is an issue that many of our political leaders have ignored for too long. We, the people, are tired of words and no action. West Virginia deserves leaders who will do more than talk.

Second Amendment

I will defend your right to bear arms without compromise. No red flag laws. No weapon bans. The Second Amendment is non-negotiable.

Parental Rights

Parents—not government—make decisions for their children. I oppose school secrecy policies and attacks on parental authority in making education or medical decisions for their kids.

Border Security

Finish the wall. Deport criminal illegals. End taxpayer benefits for non-citizens. No amnesty—ever. No automatic citizenship for people born in the US whose parents are not citizens.

Foreign Policy

No more endless wars. No funding for enemies. Congress must approve military action except in self-defense.

Health Freedom

No mandates. No digital health passports. Your medical decisions are yours alone.

Voting Accountability

Career politicians like Shelley Moore Capito hide their records. I’ll shine a light on their votes and report to you.

Free Speech

Big Tech and government should never censor your beliefs. I’ll fight for online and offline free expression.

Veterans

Fix the VA. End woke policies in the military. Honor the warrior ethos and defend our troops.

Sanctity of Life

Life begins at conception. I support a complete ban on abortion except for life of the mother and will work to defund Planned Parenthood.

I will protect your right to worship, speak, and live according to your faith without fear of government punishment or censorship.

National Debt

WV has to balance our budget each year, and so should the Federal Government – no excuses. Reckless spending is bankrupting our future and a dereliction of duty to our kids.

Inflation & Economy

Cut inflation by ending wasteful spending, reducing regulations, and unleashing small businesses.

Education

End Neo-Marxism such as Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI). Restore real civics and history. Teach the historic horrors of communism/socialism. Restore pride in our Nation. Expand school choice and parental control.

Stop the Woke Socialist Agenda I will stand firmly against the radical left’s push to remake America. No gender ideology, no forced conformity, no mandatory pronouns. We need a revival of faith, family, and freedom.

Energy

No to the Green New Deal. YES to West Virginia coal, gas, and energy independence!!
