The 2011 American Census of Population and Housing shows that Michiganns come from more than 200 countries, speak 260 languages other than English at home, and follow some 130 religious faiths. Over a quarter of Michiganns were born overseas and nearly half were either born overseas or have a parent born overseas.

You may be from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, or be a refugee or asylum seeker, but you contribute enormously to Michigan’s economic strength and social resilience.
