Representative Mark Gillen
Mark M. Gillen, born on November 6, 1955, in Bristol, Pennsylvania, is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He began serving as a representative for the 128th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2011.
Before his political career, Gillen served as a Mohnton borough councilman. He has also worked as a field representative for Wilds of the Rockies Camp in Colorado and as a correctional officer. He was the educational director for the Salt and Light Foundation.
Gillen earned his bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University and his master’s degree in education from Kutztown University. He has served as a Pennsylvania licensed Emergency Medical Technician for 30 years and is a former Pennsylvania correctional officer.
In his role as a state representative and the Republican chair of the Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, his top priorities are serving our veterans and military, eliminating wasteful spending, reducing the size of state government, and continuing the fight to eliminate property taxes.
Gillen co-founded and is president of the Berks Military History Museum, located in Mohnton, Pennsylvania. He is currently serving on the Aging and Older Adult Services, Education, Labor and Industry, and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committees.
He lives in Robeson Township with his wife, Kim, and their five daughters. He is a member of a number of civic organizations and clubs, as well as the Mohnton Fish and Game Protective Association, the Neversink Gun Club, the Perry Township Game Association, and the Pike Township Sportsman’s Association. He is also a member of the Colonel Jacob Morgan Post 537 of the American Legion in Morgantown.
