Representative David Standridge Contact information

David Standridge is a member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 34. He is a member of the Republican Party. Standridge assumed office on December 12, 2012, and his current term ends on November 4, 2026.

Standridge was born in Blount County, Alabama. He grew up on a Blount County Farm and graduated from Hayden High School. He holds a degree from Wallace State College and a BS degree from Athens State University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Before his political career, Standridge served as a law enforcement official for 21 years where he excelled to the rank of Captain. He also served as a probate judge and commission chairman of Blount County and is a retired captain in the Blount County Sheriff’s Department.

In 2014, he was elected to serve as Chairman of the House Rural Caucus. Standridge has been assigned to various committees during his tenure. In the 2023-2024 term, he was assigned to the Agriculture and Forestry Committee and the Ethics and Campaign Finance Committee. In the 2021-2022 term, he was assigned to the House Rules Committee, Urban and Rural Development Committee (as Vice Chair), and the Financial Services Committee.

Standridge ran for re-election to the Alabama House of Representatives to represent District 34 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. He had previously sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 6th Congressional District of Alabama in 2012.

Standridge is a Christian and identifies as Baptist. He is married to Danna and they have three children.
