Shaver is a member of the Republican Party. She is known for her active involvement in the community. She is the president of the Cherokee County Republican Women and vice-chair of the Cherokee County Republican Executive Committee. She was also appointed to the Cherokee County Industrial Development Board.

Before her political career, Shaver worked with the Gadsden Airport Authority and served as Town Clerk of Leesburg. She is a certified municipal clerk. Shaver hails from Leesburg, Alabama, and currently works for the City of Gadsden.

In terms of education, Shaver attended Gadsden State Community College and Chattahoochee Valley Community College, majoring in accounting and computer science. She continued her education at Jacksonville State University.

During her tenure, Shaver has been assigned to various committees.
