James Lomax is a member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 20. He is a member of the Republican Party. He assumed office on November 9, 2022, and his current term ends on November 4, 2026.

Lomax ran for election to the Alabama House of Representatives to represent District 20 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. He succeeded Howard Sanderford.

Born around 1992, Lomax earned a B.A. in communications from the University of Alabama at Huntsville in 2013 and an M.A. in civic leadership from Lipscomb University in 2017. He is a long-time resident of District 20 and a graduate of Grissom High School.

Before his political career, Lomax’s professional experience includes working as the vice president of asset management and leasing of Corporate Office Properties Trust, an associate with Colliers International, and a commercial leasing agent with NAI Chase Commercial. He is currently the Director of Asset Management and Leasing for Corporate Office Properties Trust, a Real Estate Investment Trust with a focus on Redstone Gateway, the 468-acre business park development supporting Redstone Arsenal.

In the 2023-2024 legislative session, Lomax was assigned to the Constitution, Campaigns and Elections, Ethics and Campaign Finance, and Ports, Waterways and Intermodal Transit committees.

Lomax lives in Huntsville, Alabama, and is a Baptist. He is married to Elizabeth and they have one child.
