He ran for election to the Alabama House of Representatives to represent District 56 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Ontario Tillman was born in Bessemer, Alabama. He graduated from Jess Lanier High School. He earned a B.S. in special education from Alabama A&M University, an M.Ed. in collaborative teaching from Alabama A&M University, and a J.D. from Miles Law School.

Tillman’s career experience includes working as a partner with the Maxwell Tillman Law Firm. He has been assigned to the Financial Services Committee and Fiscal Responsibility Committee for the years 2023-2024.

In the 2022 elections, Ontario Tillman defeated Carson Lester in the general election for Alabama House of Representatives District 56. He received 90.7% of the votes, amounting to 9,008 votes. Prior to this, he defeated Tereshia Huffman in the Democratic primary runoff for Alabama House of Representatives District 56 on June 21, 2022.

Ontario Tillman is a family man, a father of three children, and has been married to his beautiful wife Yvette for over five years. He is a resident of Bessemer and has previously taught in public schools for ten years.
