Ritchie Whorton is a member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 22. He assumed office on November 5, 2014. His current term ends on November 4, 2026. Whorton ran for re-election to the Alabama House of Representatives to represent District 22.

Born Ritchie Aaron Whorton on March 4, 1960, in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, he is a member of the Republican Party. He is a businessman from Owens Cross Roads, near Huntsville, Alabama. His district encompasses Jackson and Madison counties in the northern portion of his state.

Whorton’s professional experience includes co-owning and managing All Star Pools, Inc. He has been serving District 22 which encompasses eastern Madison County and western Jackson County since 2014. A longtime resident of Owens Cross Roads, he graduated from New Hope High School in 1978.

Over the years, Whorton has been assigned to various committees. In the 2023-2024 tenure, he was assigned to the Commerce and Small Business Committee, Ethics and Campaign Finance Committee, House Local Legislation Committee (as Vice Chair), and Madison County Legislation Committee.

In the 2021-2022 tenure, he served on the Commerce and Small Business Committee, Economic Development and Tourism Committee, Ethics and Campaign Finance Committee, House Local Legislation Committee (as Vice Chair), and Madison County Legislation Committee.

In the 2019-2020 tenure, he served on the Commerce and Small Business Committee, Economic Development and Tourism Committee, Madison County Legislation Committee, Ethics and Campaign Finance Committee, and House Local Legislation Committee (as Vice chair).
