Representative Kelvin Lawrence
Kelvin Lawrence, born on November 12, 1973, is an American politician who has been serving in the Alabama House of Representatives from the 69th district since 2014. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Before his tenure in the House of Representatives, Lawrence served as the mayor of Hayneville, Alabama. His professional experience extends beyond politics, as he is also a business owner and homebuilder. He owns several Subway sandwich shop franchises.
Lawrence was first elected to the Alabama House of Representatives on November 4, 2014. He ran for re-election to represent District 69 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. His current term ends on November 4, 2026.
Over the years, Lawrence has been assigned to various committees. In the 2023-2024 tenure, he was assigned to the Boards, Agencies and Commissions Committee, Montgomery County Legislation Committee (as Vice Chair), State Government Committee, and Ways and Means General Fund Committee.
