Mike Prax, whose full name is Glenn "Mike" Prax, was born on May 25, 1956, in Fairfax, Minnesota. He is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He currently represents District 33 in the Alaska House of Representatives.

Mike Prax, whose full name is Glenn “Mike” Prax, was born on May 25, 1956, in Fairfax, Minnesota. He is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He currently represents District 33 in the Alaska House of Representatives.

Before his current tenure, Prax held Seat G on the Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly from 1997 to 2000. In January 2020, former Alaska House member Tammie Wilson resigned to work for the state Office of Children’s Services. Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy appointed Prax to fill the seat on February 18, and he was sworn in on February 24. As of June 2020, Prax sits on the House Education and Energy committees.

Prax is also known for his career outside of politics. He owns Prospector Outfitters and works as an operations technician with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is married to Caitlyn Ellis. They own a house in Juneau and have a small sled dog named Barley.

In the 2022 general election, Prax ran for re-election to the Alaska House of Representatives to represent District 33. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022. His current term ends on January 21, 2025.

Throughout his political career, Prax has been assigned to various committees. In the 2023-2024 term, he was assigned to the House Education Committee, House Health & Social Services Committee (as Chair), House Labor & Commerce Committee, Armed Services Committee, and the Select Committee on Legislative Ethics (as an Alternate). In the 2021-2022 term, he was assigned to the House Health & Social Services Committee, House Community & Regional Affairs Committee, and the House Education Committee.
