Representative Robyn Frier

Robyn Frier is a Democrat serving in the Alaska House of Representatives, representing District 40. She assumed office on January 21, 2025, and her current term is scheduled to end on January 19, 2027. Frier won election in November 2024, representing Alaska’s northernmost district, which includes Utqiagvik and communities across the North Slope and Northwest Arctic.

Frier was born and raised in Utqiagvik, Alaska, and is of Iñupiat heritage. Her upbringing in one of Alaska’s most remote regions shaped her values of resilience, cultural pride, and community service. She grew up participating in subsistence traditions such as fishing, hunting, and gathering, which gave her a deep appreciation for the land and the importance of preserving Alaska Native ways of life. In addition, she was involved with Nunaaqiuraat Tumitchiat, or “Footprints of Our Community,” an initiative dedicated to cultural preservation and community development. These roles gave her valuable experience in policymaking, advocacy, and community leadership.

In the 2024 election, Frier campaigned on themes of equity, education, and community empowerment.
