About Representative Steve St. Clair
Steve St. Clair serves as a Republican Representative for District 26 in the Alaska state legislature.
Clair is a member of the House Community and Regional Affairs, Transportation, and State Affairs standing committees, along with five finance subcommittees to scrutinize the budget and look for reductions and efficiencies. Clair was born and raised in Washington State and joined the United States Army as a Military Policeman immediately after high school. Clair joined the Alaska Legislature in 2017 as legislative staff to Representative Cathy Tilton, spending six years learning the legislative process and working extensively on Alaska’s budget, and later served as Chief of Staff to Representative Thomas Baker in 2023. Clair deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield and was later stationed at Fort Huachuca, where he met his wife, Abby.
