David Christian Farnsworth was born on July 16, 1951, in Mexico City, Mexico. He is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He has been representing District 10 in the Arizona Senate since 2023.

Before his current tenure, Farnsworth was appointed to the Arizona Senate on September 11, 2013, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Rich Crandall. He served in this role until January 11, 2021. He also served non-consecutively in the Arizona State Legislature from January 1995 until January 1997 in the Arizona House of Representatives District 4 seat.

Farnsworth graduated from Mesa High School and earned his AA from Mesa Community College. In the 1994 elections, he ran as a write-in candidate in the Republican Primary for House District 4, qualifying with 582 votes. In the November 8, 1994, General election, Farnsworth took the first seat with 20,780 votes.

In 1996, when Democratic Senator Bill Hardt left the Legislature and left the Senate District 4 seat open, Farnsworth was unopposed for the September 10, 1996, Republican Primary, winning with 7,388 votes. However, he lost the November 5, 1996, General election to Democratic Representative Jack Brown.

In 1998, Farnsworth was unopposed for the September 8, 1998, Republican Primary, winning with 6,713 votes. However, he lost the November 3, 1998, General election to incumbent Democratic Senator Brown.

In 2022, Farnsworth ousted Russell Bowers in the Republican primary as a candidate for the Arizona Senate. He won the general election on November 8, 2022, and assumed office on January 9, 2023. His current term ends on January 13, 2025.

Farnsworth’s career experience includes owning a real estate investing and rental management company and several other companies, working as a licensed real estate and insurance agent, and as a supervisor for Home Depot.
