Laurin Hendrix is a member of the Republican Party and currently serves in the Arizona House of Representatives, representing District 14. He assumed office on January 9, 2023, and his current term is set to end on January 13, 2025.

Hendrix was born in California and now resides in Gilbert, Arizona. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Irvine. His career experience includes owning a number of small businesses.

Before his current tenure, Hendrix served in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2009 to 2011, representing the 22nd District. He ran for re-election in 2012, but was defeated in the Republican primary by Eddie Farnsworth and Steve R. Urie. He again ran in 2022, and was elected alongside Speaker pro tempore Travis Grantham.

In addition to his political career, Hendrix has served as a member and president of the Maricopa County Community College District governing board. He also represented Gilbert in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2008-2010, where he served on Commerce and Education Committees.

As a legislator, Hendrix has been assigned to several committees, including the House Commerce Committee, Military Affairs and Public Safety Committee, and Regulatory Affairs Committee. He also served as the Chair of the Regulatory Affairs Committee and Vice Chair of the Commerce Committee, Arizona House of Representatives.

For legislators residing outside of Maricopa County, they receive $238/day for the first 120 days of regular and special sessions and half that amount after the 120th day. The per diem for legislators residing outside of Maricopa County is tied to the federal rate.
