Representative Lupe Contreras
Lupe Contreras, whose full name is Guadalupe Chavira Contreras, was born on July 27, 1975, in Cashion, Arizona, U.S. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Education: Contreras received his education from Glendale Community College and Estrella Mountain Community College.
Political Career: Contreras began his political career as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives, representing District 19 from 2013 to 2015. After serving in the House, he moved to the Arizona Senate, where he represented the 19th district from January 5, 2015, to January 9, 2023.
In the 2022 general election, Contreras ran for election to the Arizona House of Representatives to represent District 22. He won the election held on November 8, 2022, and assumed office on January 9, 2023. His current term ends on January 13, 2025.
Leadership Role: On June 21, 2023, Contreras assumed the office of Minority Leader of the Arizona House of Representatives. He succeeded Andrés Cano in this role.
