Representative Jim Wooten

James Earl Wooten, born on September 20, 1941, is an American politician who has been serving as a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 45 and is a member of the Republican Party.

Wooten was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to Julian Simmons Wooten and Hazel Marie Lindsey. His father, Julian, passed away when Wooten was 17 due to a coronary occlusion.

Wooten began his tenure in the Arkansas House of Representatives from District 45 on January 14, 2019, succeeding Jeremy Gillam. He currently resides in Beebe, Arkansas, and is a member of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his political career, Wooten has also been involved in various committees during his tenure. These include the House Insurance and Commerce Committee, the Joint Budget Committee, and the Joint Performance Review Committee.

As of 2023, Wooten represents District 59 in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He assumed this office on January 9, 2023, and his current term is set to end on January 13, 2025. Wooten is running for re-election to continue representing District 59, with the primary scheduled for March 5, 2024.
