Rep. Stephen Meeks is serving his seventh term in the Arkansas House. He represents District 42 which includes a portion of Van Buren, Faulkner, and Cleburne Counties. For the 94th General Assembly, Rep. Meeks is the House Chair for the Joint Committee on Advanced Communications and Information Technology.

Stephen Meeks, born on October 30, 1970, is an American politician serving as a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 42 and assumed office on January 9, 2023. His current term ends on January 13, 2025. Meeks is a member of the Republican Party and is running for re-election to the Arkansas House of Representatives to represent District 42.

Before his current tenure, Meeks served in the Arkansas House of Representatives District 67. His career experience includes working as a computer technician. Over the years, he has been assigned to various committees. In the 2023-2024 term, Meeks was assigned to the House Advanced Communications and Information Technology Committee (as Chair), House Education Committee, and House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee. He also co-chaired the Advanced Communications and Information Technology Committee.

In the 2021-2022 term, he was part of the House Education Committee, House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee, and co-chaired the Advanced Communications and Information Technology Committee. He was also a member of the Legislative Council and chaired the House Advanced Communications and Information Technology Committee.

In the 2019-2020 term, Meeks was assigned to the Advanced Communications and Information Technology Committee (as Chair), Joint Budget Committee, House Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee, and House Education Committee.

Meeks was elected in the general election on November 2, 2010, winning 55 percent of the vote over 45 percent for Democratic candidate Eddie Hawkins. He represented the 47th district. Meeks was reelected in 2012 with 73% of the vote, representing the 67th district. He ran unopposed in 2014 and 2016. He was reelected in 2018 with 79% of the vote, and in 2020 with 75% of the vote.
