Chris Kolker is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Colorado Senate who represents District 16. He assumed office on January 9, 2023. His current term ends on January 8, 2025.

In the 2022 reapportionment process, his residence moved from senate district 27 to senate district 16, so he began to represent the 16th district in 2023. The district includes all or parts of Centennial, Littleton, Ken Caryl, Columbine and Columbine Valley in Arapahoe and Jefferson counties. He was first elected to the Colorado State Senate in 2020 to District 27.

Before his current tenure, he held office in the Colorado State Senate District 27. His predecessor in the 27th district was Jack Tate, and he was succeeded by Tom Sullivan. His predecessor in the 16th district was Tammy Story.

As of 2020, he lived in Arapahoe County, Colorado. He was born in Guttenberg, Iowa. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Clarke College in 1994. Kolker’s career experience includes working as a certified financial planner, high school teacher, and business owner.

In terms of committee assignments, during 2023-2024, Kolker was assigned to the Senate Education Committee and served as the Vice Chair of the Senate Finance Committee. During 2021-2022, he was assigned to the Technology Committee, Business, Labor, and Technology Committee, and the Senate Local Government Committee.

Kolker ran for election to the Colorado State Senate to represent District 27 and won in the general election on November 3, 2020. In the general election for Colorado State Senate District 27, Chris Kolker defeated Suzanne Staiert.
