Larry Liston, born in 1952, is an American politician who serves as a member of the Republican Party. He is currently a member of the Colorado Senate from the 10th district, a position he assumed on January 13, 2021.

Liston’s political career began in the Colorado House of Representatives, where he served from the 16th district from 2005 to 2013, and again from 2017 to 2021. His journey in politics started as a precinct leader, then as a district leader, before becoming the vice-chair of the Colorado Republican Party.

Liston was educated at Wasson High School and later attended Colorado State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and minored in political science in 1975. After his education, he started his career as a financial consultant for the Royal Bank of Canada and later became vice-president in his firm.

In his personal life, Liston is married to Mary Ann, and they have one child together.

Liston’s activities in the Republican Party started as a precinct leader and then as a district leader before becoming the vice-chair of the Colorado Republican Party. He was elected to the state house in 2004, and served until he lost in the Republican primary for a seat in the state senate to Owen Hill. He returned to the state house after defeating Representative Janak Joshi in the Republican primary and served until his election to the state senate in the 2020 election.

Throughout his political career, Liston has served on various committees including the Senate Appropriations Committee, Business, Labor, and Technology Committee, Senate State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee, and more. He has also been involved in several election campaigns, including serving as the chair of Bill Owens gubernatorial campaign in El Paso County in the 1998 and 2002 elections, and as the co-chair of George W. Bush’s presidential campaign in El Paso County during the 2000 presidential election.
