Mark Baisley is a member of the Republican Party and represents Colorado’s 4th Senate district. He assumed office on January 9, 2023, and his current term ends on January 13, 2027.

Born in Hastings, Minnesota, Baisley earned a B.S. in computer information systems/business administration from Columbia College. His career experience includes working as the president of Slipglass, Inc. and Enspherics, a senior engineer with Raytheon, and a senior systems engineer with Martin Marietta. He has also been a self-employed contractor specializing in defense and homeland security technology.

Baisley served on the Columbia College Board of Trustees and as the vice chair and finance chairman of the Republican Party of Colorado. He has been identified as a top influencer in American politics.

In the 2023-2024 legislative session, Baisley was assigned to the Business, Labor, and Technology Committee, Senate Education Committee, Senate State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee, and Technology Committee.

Before his tenure in the Senate, he represented Colorado House of Representatives District 39, which encompassed parts of Douglas County and all of Teller County.

Baisley has sponsored several bills during his tenure, including bills related to gaming, local government provision of communication services, state employee pay periods, offender reentry and education programs, property tax reductions, recreational use statute updates, and teacher degree apprenticeship programs.

For most of his professional life, Baisley has been a self-employed contractor specializing in defense and homeland security technology. He brings to his job as a legislator a vast amount of real-world business experience from the very top of the aerospace and technology industries - two important areas to Colorado’s economy.
