Representative Anabel Figueroa
State Representative Anabel Figueroa is the representative for the Connecticut General Assembly’s 148th district. She was elected after winning a special election in February 2023 and is the first Latina to hold this seat.
Born in El Salvador, Rep. Figueroa has lived in Stamford for 40 years. She currently serves on the Stamford Board of Representatives for the 8th district and works in the local healthcare system as a medical and surgical unit coordinator.
Rep. Figueroa is a member of the Aging, Executive and Legislative Nominations, and Commerce Committees. She is an active member of her community and is dedicated to serving her constituents.
Before her political career, Figueroa was born in Tonacatepeque and founded the American Red Cross chapter there. She also taught elementary school in the country. Figueroa has lived in Stamford, Connecticut since 1983.
She studied at Norwalk Community College to become a therapeutic recreation director and a certified nursing assistant. Her career experience includes working as a medical & surgical unit coordinator with Norwalk Hospital and an elementary school teacher.
Figueroa is an American politician serving district 148 in the Connecticut House of Representatives since 2023. She is a member of the Democratic Party and is married with two children.
