Representative Christopher Rosario
Christopher Rosario is a dedicated public servant and community leader with a passion for making a difference. Elected to represent Bridgeport’s 128th Assembly District in 2014, he has been an instrumental figure in Connecticut’s legislative landscape. Currently serving as Deputy Speaker of the House, he brings his expertise to several key committees, including Appropriations, Transportation, and Government Administration & Elections, as well as having served as the past chair of the Legislative Black and Puerto Rican Caucus.
Beyond his legislative role, Christopher’s commitment to his community is unwavering. He’s actively engaged with national organizations, including serving on the Executive Board of the Board of Latino Legislative Leaders and NALEO, where he is a Lifetime Member. His involvement extends to local initiatives, such as the Greater Bridgeport Latino Network and the Fairfield County Hispanic Business Chamber, showcasing his dedication to fostering diverse and vibrant communities.
His efforts to enhance residents’ quality of life have ranged from directing anti-blight and illegal dumping initiatives to organizing the Alpha Community Service’s Annual Walk to End Homelessness, where he served on the Board of Managers for Alpha Community Services, a division of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA.
Acknowledged as a Champion of Change and Young Latino Leader by CT Latino News, Christopher’s commitment extends beyond legislation and leadership. His involvement with The Hispanic Heritage Committee, coordinating activities during Hispanic Heritage Month, underscores his dedication to cultural preservation. As a Co-Chair of the Connecticut Complete Census Count Committee, he ensures diverse voices are represented.
Christopher’s personal accolades further illuminate his exceptional leadership and dedication. He was recognized in Connecticut Magazine’s “40 Under 40” Class of 2014 for his outstanding contributions. In 2016, he received the CT 100 Men of Color Award, honoring his impactful work in the community. In that same year, Rosario was one of Connecticut’s 7 presidential electors for Hillary Rodham Clinton. A Bridgeport native, Christopher’s roots run deep in the city where he attended Bridgeport Public Schools. He resides in Bridgeport with his wife Katherine and their three children, Anthony, Christopher Virgilio, and Isabella. Through his diverse achievements, Christopher Rosario continues to shape his community positively and inspire future leaders.
