Representative Dan Gaiewski

Dan Gaiewski is a member of the Democratic Party and currently serves in the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing District 40. He assumed office on February 28, 2025, and his current term will conclude on January 6, 2027.

Born around the year 2000, Gaiewski grew up in Groton, Connecticut, where he attended Robert E. Fitch High School. During his time there, he was an active student, participating in track and field as well as the jazz band. Following high school, Gaiewski attended Franklin and Marshall College, where he continued his passion for athletics by competing in cross country and track and field. He achieved personal records of 4:57 in the mile and 17:01 in the 5k, reflecting his dedication and discipline as a student-athlete. His time at Franklin and Marshall not only honed his athletic skills but also provided him with a strong academic foundation and leadership experience that would later serve him well in public service.

After completing his studies, Gaiewski worked as an assistant track and field coach at Wesleyan University from 2023 to 2024. Gaiewski’s path to the Connecticut House of Representatives began with a special election held on February 25, 2025, following the departure of his predecessor, Christine Conley. Running as the Democratic and Working Families Party candidate, he won the special general election and officially assumed office on February 28, 2025.
