Henry Genga, born on December 8, 1939, is an American politician who has been serving in the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 10th district since 2006. He assumed office on February 1, 2006, succeeding Melody Currey.

Henry Genga, born on December 8, 1939, is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party who has been serving in the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 10th district since 2006. He assumed office on February 1, 2006, succeeding Melody Currey.

Genga was born and raised in East Hartford, Connecticut. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

In terms of education, Genga holds a State of Connecticut Certification in Business Education and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of New Haven, New Haven, CT. He also has a B. S. in Business Administration from the University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT.

Before his political career, Genga worked as a Business and Cooperative Work Experience Instructor and Summer Youth Employment Coordinator at East Hartford High School, East Hartford, CT from 1996 to 2007. Prior to that, he was a Senior Information Systems Analyst at The Travelers Insurance Companies, Inc., Hartford, CT from 1974 to 1994.

Genga has received numerous honors throughout his career. These include the CT High School Coaches Association Umpire Of The Year Award in 2018, the Town of East Hartford Youth Volunteer of the Year Award in 2017, and the East Hartford YMCA James O. MacDonald Volunteer Leadership Award in 2002 and 2011. He was also recognized as one of three Outstanding Young Men in Connecticut by Connecticut Jaycees.

In addition to his work in the Connecticut House of Representatives, Genga has held several other government positions. He served as a Town Councilman from 2003 to 2006, Commissioner of the Metropolitan District Commission from 1998 to 2006, and Treasurer of the Town of East Hartford from 1985 to 1997.

Genga is also actively involved in public service. He is a member of the Connecticut Business Educators Association Board of Directors, the Connecticut Association of Cooperative Work Experience Coordinators, and the Hartford Area Business Economists Board of Directors. He has also served as the Chairman of the Board of Managers at the East Hartford YMCA, Vice President of the East Hartford Chamber of Commerce, and President of the East Hartford Jaycees.
