Representative Cyndie Romer

Cyndie Romer is an American politician serving in the Delaware House of Representatives for the 25th district as a Democrat. She assumed office on November 9, 2022, succeeding John Kowalko.

Romer was born and raised in Hockessin, Delaware, where she grew up as one of five children. Her father served on the Wilmington Fire Department for 40 years, retiring in 2004, as Battalion Chief. She attended St. Elizabeth High School and later pursued higher education at the University of Delaware, earning a degree in economics.

In the 2022 election, Romer ran against Republican opponent Lynn May and emerged victorious, thereby winning the seat in the House of Representatives. Her tenure began in 2022 and her current term is set to end in 2024.

Apart from her political career, Romer is also a business executive. She works at Diamond Technologies and has previously worked as a systems integrator with UPS Supply Chain Solutions. Her husband, Steve Romer, works at JP Morgan Chase. They have been married since 2002 and have two daughters and a dog named Bodhi.

Romer’s commitment to her role as a representative is evident in her active participation in various committees. She serves on the Corrections Committee, House Education Committee, Health & Human Development Committee, House Judiciary Committee, Public Safety & Homeland Security Committee, and is the Vice Chair of the House Technology & Telecommunications Committee.

Throughout her career, Romer has demonstrated a strong dedication to her district and the people she represents. Her work in the Delaware House of Representatives continues to reflect her commitment to public service.
