Representative Dan Daley
Dan Daley is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. He represents the 96th district in the Florida House of Representatives.
Born in Huntington, New York, Daley moved to Florida in 1996. He currently resides in Coral Springs, Florida. He has a diverse range of recreational interests, including hiking, horseback riding, and scuba diving.
Education: Daley earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Criminology from Florida State University in 2010. He further pursued his education and received a Juris Doctor from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 2015.
Political Career: Daley’s political career began in Coral Springs, Florida, where he served as a city commissioner from 2012 to 2019. During this time, he also held the position of vice mayor from 2015 to 2017.
In 2019, Daley was the only candidate to qualify for the special election to replace Jared Moskowitz as the Florida state representative for the 97th district. He had been endorsed by Moskowitz and Congressman Ted Deutch, among others.
As a state representative, Daley has been active in various House subcommittees, including Local Administration, Transportation & Tourism Appropriations, and Workforce Development & Tourism.
In April 2022, Daley attempted to stage a sit-in demonstration to prevent a vote on Florida’s congressional district maps. However, the demonstration was ultimately unsuccessful.
Daley is currently serving as a representative for the 96th district in the Florida House of Representatives. His tenure began in 2022 and his current term ends in 2024. Daley has declared his candidacy for the Democratic primary scheduled on August 20, 2024.
