Gallop Franklin II is a distinguished member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 8. He is a member of the Democratic Party and has been serving in the House since 2022.

Born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, Franklin has a strong connection to his city of residence. He is married to Chelsea M. Franklin, also from Tallahassee. His parents are Margaret Franklin and Gallop Franklin Sr.

Franklin is a highly educated individual, holding a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. His professional background is diverse, spanning healthcare, real estate, and education. Prior to his political career, he worked as a pharmacist at Publix and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare and served as a visiting professor of pharmacy at Florida A&M University.

In his role as a representative, Franklin has been assigned to several committees, including the Education & Employment Committee, Education Quality Subcommittee, Select Committee on Hurricane Resiliency & Recovery, Healthcare Regulation Subcommittee, Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee, and Insurance & Banking Subcommittee.
