Josie Tomkow is a dedicated public servant and a member of the Republican Party. She was born on October 15, 1995, in Tampa, Florida. She currently resides in Polk City, Florida.

Education: Josie is an alumnus of the University of Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree.

Career: Before her political career, Josie worked as a cattle rancher. Her love for her community and her state led her to public service. She was elected to the Florida House of Representatives on May 1, 2018, and has been reelected subsequently.

Political Journey: Josie represents the state’s 39th House district, which includes parts of Osceola and Polk counties. She defeated Jennifer Spath in a special Republican primary for the vacant 39th House district seat on February 20, 2018. She then won the May 1, 2018 special election, defeating Democrat Ricky Shirah with 59.9% of the vote. At the time of her election to the House, Tomkow was 22 years old. She again defeated Shirah by a similar margin in the November 6, 2018 general election.

Current Role: As of 2022, Josie Tomkow is a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 51. She assumed office on November 8, 2022. Her current term ends on November 5, 2024. She is running for re-election to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 51. She declared candidacy for the Republican primary scheduled on August 20, 2024.
