Representative Lisa Dunkley
Lisa A. Dunkley is an American politician who has been serving in the Florida House of Representatives representing District 97 since 2022. She succeeded Dan Daley in this role. Dunkley is a member of the Democratic Party.
Dunkley was born in Kingston, Jamaica. She moved to Florida in 1995 and completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from the Florida Atlantic University. After her education, she served in the United States Army and retired after her final tour in Iraq.
Following her military service, Dunkley worked for the Florida Department of Transportation. Later, she transitioned to the non-profit sector. Her career also includes experience as a youth director and middle school PTA president. These roles fueled her mission to ensure children acquire career skills in school.
In the 2022 Florida House of Representatives election, Dunkley won a three-way primary with 62% of the vote. This victory marked her first elected office. Her current term in the Florida House of Representatives is set to end in 2024.
