Representative Philip Griffitts
Philip Griffitts, born in 1971, is an American politician serving as a Republican member for the 6th district of the Florida House of Representatives. He assumed office on November 8, 2022.
Griffitts is the son of Philip Griffitts Sr., a former mayor of Panama City Beach, Florida. He was born and raised in Panama City, Florida. He graduated from Bay High School in 1989 and went on to attend Florida State University, where he earned a degree in political science in 1993.
After his education, Griffitts co-owned a home construction business, contributing to his local community. He has also served on several boards, including the Bay Medical Sacred Heart Board of Trustees, the Florida State-Panama City Foundation Development Board, and the Panama City Beach Civil Service Board.
In August 2022, Griffitts ran for the 6th district of the Florida House of Representatives. He defeated Brian Clowdus in the Republican primary election. He was elected to represent the 6th district on November 8, 2022, succeeding Jay Trumbull.
