Representative Shane Abbott
Shane G. Abbott is a dedicated public servant and a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 5. He is a member of the Republican Party and has been serving in this position since 2022. His current term is set to end in 2024.
Born in West Palm Beach, Florida, Abbott was raised in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He attended Pensacola State College from 1993 to 1995 and later transferred to the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from 1995 to 1998.
Professionally, Abbott is a pharmacist and a business owner. He co-owns The Prescription Place and Firestone Tire Service Center in DeFuniak Springs. His career experience includes co-owning these establishments, which shows his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to serving his community.
In his personal life, Abbott is married to Holley Abbott of Milton, Florida. They are blessed with four children: Dre Matthews, Tanner Abbott, Tinsley Abbott, and Nate Abbott. They also have a grandchild named Dreyson Matthews. Abbott’s recreational interests include fishing and hunting.
In terms of his legislative service, Abbott was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2022.
