Senator Tom Leek

Tom Leek is a prominent American politician and attorney who has made significant contributions to the state of Florida. Born on August 6, 1968, in Columbus, Ohio, Leek has built a distinguished career in public service and law. He currently serves as a member of the Florida State Senate, representing District 7, which includes all of St. Johns, Putnam, and Flagler County, as well as northern parts of Volusia County.

Leek’s journey in politics began with his election to the Florida House of Representatives in 2016, where he represented District 25. He was re-elected in 2022 to represent District 28 after redistricting. During his tenure in the Florida House, Leek quickly established himself as a conservative leader, serving as a committee chairman and on the leadership team of the last three Speakers in the Florida House. His legislative accomplishments include landmark legislation that strengthened law enforcement recruitment, retention, and rewards, as well as important measures related to emergency management and banning vaccine passports.

In 2024, Leek ran for election to the Florida State Senate and won the general election on November 5, 2024. He assumed office on the same day, succeeding Travis Hutson. As a state senator, Leek continues to advocate for conservative values and policies that strengthen families, promote economic development, and expand school choice.

Leek’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida, which he earned in 1992, and a Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law, obtained in 1997. His career in law spans over two decades, during which he served as the managing partner at the law firm of Cobb Cole in Daytona Beach. In 2018, he joined Foundation Risk Partners, Corp., a national insurance brokerage, as the Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President.

Leek resides in Ormond Beach, Florida, with his wife Michelle and their two daughters. His dedication to public service, combined with his extensive legal expertise, has made him a respected figure in Florida politics.
