Representative David Wilkerson

David Wilkerson is a member of the Democratic Party and has been serving in the Georgia House of Representatives since 2011. He represents District 38 and his current term ends on January 13, 2025. He ran for re-election to the Georgia House of Representatives to represent District 38 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Wilkerson earned his B.S. in accounting from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. His professional experience includes working as a project consultant at Resources Global Professionals.

Throughout his tenure, Wilkerson has been assigned to several committees. For the 2023-2024 term, he was assigned to the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight Committee, Education Committee, Juvenile Justice Committee, and House Retirement Committee. In the previous terms, he also served on the House Ethics Committee, House Rules Committee, and House Science and Technology Committee.

In February 2019, Wilkerson was unanimously elected chair of the Cobb County legislative delegation, following a period of dispute after the county’s shift from Republican to Democratic in the 2018 midterm elections.

Wilkerson’s base salary as a representative is $23,341.72 per year, with a per diem of $247/day. He was born on January 6, 1969, and is a Certified Public Accountant by profession. He is married to Penny and they reside in Powder Springs, Georgia.
