Senator Jason Esteves

Jason Esteves is a dedicated public servant and a prominent figure in Georgia politics. He currently serves as a member of the Georgia State Senate, representing District 35. Esteves assumed office on January 13, 2025, after winning the general election on November 5, 2024. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Jason Esteves has deep roots in the community he now serves. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Miami in 2005 and went on to obtain a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2010. Before entering politics, Esteves gained valuable experience in the legal field. He worked as an associate at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, where he honed his skills in legal analysis and advocacy. Later, he joined Equifax as an assistant general counsel and eventually became a vice president of legal. His professional journey also includes a stint as a middle school social studies teacher with Teach For America, where he developed a passion for education and community engagement.

Esteves’ dedication to education is evident in his service on the Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education. As an at-large representative and Board Chair, he played a pivotal role in improving the quality of education for students in Atlanta. Under his leadership, the school district achieved record-breaking graduation rates, redirected funding to classrooms, and provided significant pay increases and stipends for staff.

In the Georgia State Senate, Jason Esteves continues to champion causes that matter most to his constituents. He serves on several key Senate committees, including Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Finance, State and Local Governmental Operations, and Ethics. As Vice Chair of Finance and a member of the Senate Democratic Caucus executive team, Esteves is committed to finding innovative solutions to invest in Georgia communities.
