Senator John Albers, a Republican, was first elected to serve as State Senator of the 54th Senate District in January of 2017. His district includes parts of Georgia such as Dalton and Whitfield County.

Senator John Albers, a Republican, represents the 56th District in the Georgia State Senate, which includes portions of Fulton, Cobb, and Cherokee County. He serves as chairman of the Public Safety committee, vice chairman of Finance, and subcommittee chairman of the Appropriations committee. He is also a member of the Rules, Regulated Industries, and Government Oversight committees.

Senator Albers has long been an active member of his community, with affiliations including numerous boards of directors for business, civic, and charitable organizations. He served as a fourth-generation firefighter, and his sons continue the family legacy as 5th generation first responders.

In 2021, Senator Albers donated a kidney to his son. Following the donation, he passed the Giving the Gift of Life Act and became a national advocate for organ donation.

Senator Albers earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Louisville. He also graduated from the University of Georgia, Legislative Leadership Institute, and the Cybersecurity program at Harvard University. When not attending to state business, Senator Albers is an executive, business owner, and entrepreneur. He and his wife, Kari, have been married for 30 years and have two sons. They are members of Roswell United Methodist Church.
