She ran for election to the Georgia House of Representatives to represent District 117 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

In the general election for Georgia House of Representatives District 117, Lauren Daniel defeated Demetrius Rucker. Lauren Daniel received 50.7% of the votes, totaling 13,335 votes. Demetrius Rucker received 49.3% of the votes, totaling 12,949 votes.
