Republican State Senator Marty Harbin was elected to the Georgia Senate in 2014. His district includes most of Fayette County, and all of Lamar, Spalding, and Pike Counties.

Sen. Harbin is Chairman of the Senate Committee on Government Oversight, Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Insurance and Labor, Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Retirement and member of the Senate Committees on Natural Resources and the Environment, and Ethics.

After graduating from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sen. Harbin established the Harbin Insurance Agency which serves individuals and businesses throughout the Southeast providing insurance, risk management, and investment services. After 45 years, it has grown from two employees to over twenty.

Sen. Harbin and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 45 years and have six children and eleven grandchildren. They live in Tyrone, are members of Flat Creek Baptist Church, and actively support The Fayette Pregnancy Resource Center, Southwest Christian Care, Christian Families Today, as well as many other ministries.
