Representative Mary Ann Santos

Mary Ann Santos is a dedicated public servant and a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 117. She assumed office on January 13, 2025, after winning the general election on November 5, 2024. Her current term is set to end on January 11, 2027.

Mary Ann Santos has a rich educational background, having earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice leadership from Mercer University and a graduate degree from Clayton State University. Her career experience includes working as a court clerk, legal assistant in the prosecutor’s office, and legal office administrator. This diverse professional background has equipped her with a deep understanding of the legal system and the challenges faced by her constituents.

Raised by hardworking immigrant parents who own a small business in the community, Mary Ann values perseverance and dedication. She has proudly called District 117 home for 23 years. A graduate of Henry County High School, she went on to earn her degrees while balancing full-time work and night classes as a single mother. Her journey is a testament to her resilience and determination.

As the first Latina elected to the Georgia General Assembly from Henry County, Mary Ann hopes to inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter the obstacles. With 19 years of public service experience and a personal story as a survivor of domestic violence, she leads with both compassion and strength. Her focus is on advancing and protecting educators and students, improving roads and infrastructure, public safety, and enhancing the quality of life for all, with a particular emphasis on victims of domestic violence and vulnerable groups.

Outside of her professional life, Mary Ann finds joy in being a mother to two amazing children, two fierce cats, and a sweet dog. She also expresses her creativity through art and attends Tabernacle of Praise Church International. Her commitment to her community and her personal experiences make her a relatable and effective representative for District 117.
