Phil Olaleye lives in Atlanta, Georgia. His career experience includes working as the executive director of Next Generation Men & Women and the director of WorkSource Atlanta. He has served in the U.S. Peace Corps and as the president of Organized Neighbors of Summerhill.

Phil grew up in a working-class family in Stone Mountain, GA, the son of immigrants. As a youth, he had to travel two hours one-way to school each day to receive a decent public education. As soon as he was old enough, Phil began working at Waffle House and Best Buy to help support his single mother and family.

The former President of the Organized Neighbors of Summerhill, Phil is a 2021 Georgia Trend 40 Under 40, and was a 2020 Atlanta Business Chronicle 40 under Forty honoree. He graduated from Duke University in 2007 and received a masters in public policy from Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2014.

In the 2022 elections, Phil Olaleye defeated Toney Collins in the Democratic primary for Georgia House of Representatives District 59 on May 24, 2022. He then won the general election for Georgia House of Representatives District 59 on November 8, 2022.
