Senator Rick Williams, a Republican, was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2022. He represents Georgia’s 25th Senate District, which includes Baldwin, Butts, Jones, Jasper, and Putnam Counties, as well as portions of Bibb and Henry Counties.

Senator Rick Williams, a Republican, was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2022. He represents Georgia’s 25th Senate District, which includes Baldwin, Butts, Jones, Jasper, and Putnam Counties, as well as portions of Bibb and Henry Counties. Prior to his Senate service, Sen. Williams served in the Georgia House of Representatives representing House District 145, which includes Baldwin County and portions of Putnam County. During his term, he served on several House Committees, including Appropriations, Governmental Affairs, Higher Education, Intragovernmental Coordination, Public Safety and Homeland Security, Regulated Industries, and a Special Committee on Election Integrity.

In the Senate, Sen. Williams currently serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Retirement, Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Secretary of the Senate Committee on Public Safety, and is a voting member of the Senate Committees on Higher Education and State and Local Governmental Operations.

A native of Jackson, GA, Sen. Williams graduated from Baldwin County High School in 1970. Following in his father’s footsteps, he pursued a career in the funeral services industry. He now co-owns multiple funeral service businesses, including Williams Funeral Homes of Milledgeville, Williams Crematory of Milledgeville, and Heritage Memorial Park Cemetery. Sen. Williams also previously served on the Baldwin County Commission and was appointed Chief Registrar, a position he held for 16 years until his election to the House of Representatives in 2016.

Sen. Williams is very active within his local community. He is a member of First United Methodist Church of Milledgeville, the Milledgeville Kiwanis Club, Benevolent Lodge #3 F&AM, Al Shiah Shrine, and is also a member of numerous mortuary organizations.

Sen. Williams is married to Donna Williams. They are the parents of three children: Spencer, Cameron, and Amber, and the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren.
