Representative Shirley Ann Templo

Shirley Ann Templo is a dedicated public servant and a prominent member of the Hawaii House of Representatives, representing District 30. She assumed office on November 5, 2024, succeeding Sonny Ganaden. As a member of the Democratic Party, Templo has been actively involved in various community and political organizations throughout her career.

Templo’s journey into politics began with her extensive work in city and state government, as well as her involvement with numerous nonprofits. Her commitment to public service and her passion for improving the lives of her constituents have been the driving forces behind her political career. She has served on the Democratic Party of Hawaii State Central Committee for Senate District 15 and as the chair of the Democratic Party of Hawaii District 30. Additionally, she has been a member of the Honolulu City & County Kalihi-Palama Neighborhood Board, co-founder of Keeping Up With Kalihi, and a member of the Farrington High School School Community Council and Alumni Association. Templo is also an active member of the Oahu Filipino Catholic Club and serves as a legislative representative for St. Anthony Church in Kalihi.

Throughout her tenure in the Hawaii House of Representatives, Templo has focused on addressing the high cost of living in her district, which includes Kalihi, Kalihi Kai, Keehi Lagoon, and Hickam Village. She has been a strong advocate for affordable housing, sustainable economic development, and initiatives to support the houseless population. Templo believes that by creating a sustainable economic environment, she can improve the quality of life for her constituents and ensure long-term prosperity for middle-class and working families.
