Cindy J. Carlson is an American politician and businesswoman serving as a member of the Idaho Senate for the 7th district. She was elected in November 2022 and assumed office on December 1, 2022.

Born in California, Cindy was raised in Riggins, Idaho. She graduated from Salmon River High School and took courses at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon.

Outside of politics, Cindy owns a business that provides helicopters for tourism, power line construction, fire fighting, construction, and agricultural services. She has 38 years of business experience founding multiple businesses with her husband, Guy, encompassing logging, trucking, ranching, tourism, aerial firefighting, back country freight, and powerline construction.

Cindy is a member of the Salmon River Community Church and was a past Grangeville JSD#241 school board member and founding Salmon River JSD#243 school board chairman. She is the current secretary of the Helicopter Association International (HAI) Restricted & Experimental Category Aircraft (RECA) Working Group and member of the HAI Utilities, Patrol, and Construction (UPAC) Working Group.

She resides on the family ranch along Salmon River which has been in the Carlson family for almost 100 years. Cindy and Guy have been married for 40 years and have four children and eight grandchildren.
